Use QuickBooks to track money coming in and out of your business or personal accounts using proven tools and easy forms. Topics include creating your business, as well as setting up customers, vendors, account charts and invoices. Analyze your data through the many reports available in this software. Those who complete the course qualify for 12 CPE credits recognized by the Washington State Board of Accountancy.

Syllabus

Session 1 

  • Review accounting/bookkeeping concepts 
  • Introduce QuickBooks software – concepts, navigation, terminology, lists 

Session 2  

  • Using QuickBooks for cash/bank transactions 
  • Using QuickBooks to record sales transactions 
  • Using QuickBooks to record expenses and bill payments 

Session 3  

  • Using QuickBooks for other balance sheet transactions 
  • Create financial statements and reports 

Session 4  

  • Import and Export of data <to/from> QuickBooks 
  • Customize QuickBooks to fit your business 

Out of scope for this class 

  • Extended discussion regarding accounting theory, and transaction processing for the following: 
  • Inventories, cost of goods sold and job costing 
  • Tax returns and filings 
  • Payroll 
  • Budgeting and profit planning 
  • Integration with other software/systems: 
  • POS, CRM, ERP, OnLine banking, Intuit web apps 
  • QuickBooks Features for: 
  • Accountant, OnLine services, App center
