Looking for a fun, informative and stress-free introduction to drawing? This class introduces the fundamentals of how to sketch and draw beginning with materials and equipment and then focusing on the five fundamentals of drawing: line, shape, value, edge, and perspective. Students will use common, everyday objects from which to draw beginning with single object and adding complexity as the student develops competency and confidence. Class is a combination of lecture, demonstration and one-on-one feedback. Work at your own pace. No drawing skills or experience is required.

Syllabus

Drawing is all about line and how to use that line to describe three dimensional objects in terms of shape, value, and perspective.

Each session in this class will focus on a specific topic. The final session will give students the opportunity to draw what they choose as an end of session project. While it is not expected that students do “homework” between each class, exploring the topics further outside of class will help hone those new skills.
